I love their Vegan Miso soup. I always add an egg too it through just cause I ain't Vegan LOL

I just don't care for pork or chicken, but I will eat a boiled egg.

I'd check in online before going, to save you from waiting so long.

Small little ramen place near our home, with these cold winter nights something warm like ramen sounds good you know. When we went in I was a bit worried, being such a small place and bring in our two toddlers I was worried we would disrupt the ambiance of this cozy little place. We were sat quickly and approached immediately by our server. We had two gentlemen help us during our visit Elbert and Anton. Both were knowledgeable and friendly, especially with our little ones. We tired several appetizers but our favorite was the Ika Geso, it was perfectly crisp. We ordered the black garlic tonkotsu which was beyond delicious! Everything was priced fairly nothing crazy. And we order not 1 but 2 plates of the green tea churros because it was just that good! Seriously a great place to have dinner!

Thank you so much for the incredible experience will definitely be back!

People are probably going to disagree with me but I honestly thought this place was "just okay". I've had the best ramen in my life when I went to Japan which messed me up because now, wherever I go, I have very high expectations. Their ramen was underwhelming to say the least.

I must say, the vegan salad dressing was really good - better than the regular salad dressing, which basically was Thousand Island. It's a cabbage based salad but the vegan dressing packed an amazing toasted/roasted sesame flavor. It was very delicious.

I loved that you can order ramen combos which gets you the ramen, salad, and and appetizer all for $12+ bucks which is great because most places charge at least $10-12 alone for the ramen itself. The appetizers were great. We ordered the mochiko shrimp and chicken karaage. Both came with really nice dipping sauces; Some creamy sesame sauce for the shrimp and a curry aioli for the chicken.

Now here's where everything changed. I was so excited for the ramen because for 1.) We had waited quite some time to sit down (at least 40 min) being that we had a larger group and their seating situation was not as strategic as I would've planned and 2.) I saw that they had a perfect 5 Star rating on Yelp so I'm thinking, this place "HAS" to be good.

I ordered the Sapporo Butter Ramen (my go-to is usually Black Garlic Oil Ramen), but if a ramen place is as good as it is, then the broth alone will speak for itself. When I got my ramen, it was lukewarm. Imagine standing outside waiting for hot soup on a cold night to warm you up - ramen should always give you a sense of 'comfort'. This completely lacked in that department unfortunately. My black tea was hotter than the soup. Also - I requested Nori and when I got my bowl, I was told they ran out. I wish they would've told me at the time I ordered it so I wouldn't have been as disappointed, especially when I see other people at my table with multiple sheets of Nori in their ramen. They could've evenly distributed but whatev.

As for the flavor - it was honestly nothing special. I've had way better ramen at other places with less hype. Additionally, there were folks at my table who ordered the black garlic ramen and you could barely taste any hint of garlic. I like seeing the black garlic oil floating on my ramen like an oil spill in the ocean. Lol.

But anyway, the worst is just sipping on lukewarm broth. There were two of us whose soup came out lukewarm. We let our server know and he kindly offered to have them remake ours. But by the time we received ours, everyone else at the table had finished eating and I had already lost my appetite because now instead of unremarkable lukewarm broth, I just ended up with unremarkable hotter broth. I am apologetically unimpressed. But grateful our server was able to give us a discount on our final bill because of it.

This location has easily made it to my top favorite ramen spot. ONE there was no wait...yay! TWO the portion size was a very good size! It was enough for my lunch dining in AND my lunch for work the following day! I ordered the spicy miso combo with agedashi tofu! You have one standard size ramen and the second price next to each title is the price of the ramen PLUS an appetizers...the prices all vary. All appetizers a la carte at less than $5....WHAAAAT! I loved the tofu! I appreciated how the tofu was slightly warm with the cold bonito sauce/broth. They flash fry the tofu with some type of batter so it gives this extra layer of texture when biting into it. Now the spicy miso broth.....MMMMMMMMMM. It was flavorful with the right amount of spice and they also have some chili oil and grated garlic on the table for you to add as you please. 10/10 RECOMMEND PLEASE GO TRY!!

I am a huge fan of Sojo! I've been several times now and have yet to be disappointed. Their portions are gigantic, their broth has great depth, and all their ramens include an egg and it's always perfectly cooked and jammy. Even their apps are great, I've gone once and had an entire meal of them. For bonus points, they're the only place in town to offer dipping ramen, which I've ordered at least twice. Service is on point and the owner is always super friendly.

This spot gets busy, so come on off hours or be prepared to wait a few minutes. I recommend visiting with a couple of friends to share. Their combo (bowl + app) is a great deal. Favorite orders here are the dipping noodles and mochiko shrimp (my order last night), but their black on black ramen is their signature dish. They also have vegetarian and vegan items.
